Sarah Upshaw is the Program Manager for Promoting Leadership in health for African Nova Scotians (PLANS) at Dalhousie University. Sarah brings a robust skill set to the position, having worked as a mental health nurse, recreation therapist and counsellor. Having a diverse background of both study and work, Sarah became aware of the lack of representation within health professions and the impact on populations that were being underserved. Sarah is passionate about PLANS’s goals of helping to create interest in and supporting ANS students through programs in health, medicine, and dentistry- changing the face of health care in Nova Scotia.
