Assistant Chief Statistician and Chief Financial Officer Corporate Strategy and Management Field Statistics Canada

Ziad Shadid is the Assistant Chief Statistician and Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Strategy and Management Field at Statistics Canada. He is also a chartered professional accountant and a certified internal auditor with over 20 years of professional experience in the public and private sectors—including over 12 years in various leadership roles. In all of his leadership roles, Ziad has been committed to building teams that are founded in diversity and inclusion. In his current position, he plays a critical leadership role to foster a culture that embraces equity, diversity and inclusion across Statistics Canada. In addition to being a departmental champion for visible minorities, Ziad has contributed in various roles over the years including as a youth worker supporting new immigrants and refugees settle into Canada, as a member of the Visible Minority Committee at the Office of the Auditor General, a volunteer soccer coach, and a board member for various organizations.
