Dr. Emmanuel Osei

Assistant Professor in the department of Biology, University of British Columbia – Okanagan

Dr Emmanuel Osei is a lung cell biologist who originally hails from Ghana, West-Africa and was recently appointed as an Assistant Professor in the department of Biology, University of British Columbia – Okanagan. As part of his academic journey as a trainee, he studied and worked in different labs in Ghana, UK, Netherlands, and Canada. In these places, he was highly involved in trainee leadership roles in the larger student body as well as specifically in African-Caribbean societies. To him, these experiences taught him the need for representation of black trainee leaders and the need for their voices to be heard.
