Dr. Evelyn Asiedu
Postdoctoral Research Fellow Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Data Analysis, Research Data Management, and Policy Analysis
Dr. Evelyn Asiedu is the second daughter of immigrants from Ghana, Africa. She was born in Toronto, but grew up in the neighbouring town of Brampton, ON – located on Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. In 2013, Dr. Asiedu received her Honors B.Sc. in Chemistry from Western University and defended her PhD thesis in Analytical Environmental Toxicology in October 2020 (University of Alberta). Dr. Asiedu completed her first postdoctoral fellowship with Environment and Climate Change Canada in June 2021 and the following month, she started in her new role at Thompson Rivers University.
As the EDI Data analyst, Dr. Asiedu will contribute to the development of strategies which will identify and dismantle barriers to participation of all people on campus. Specifically, her aims to establish methods which create goals and systematically measure progress towards their achievement. Dr. Asiedu will be doing the work which she called for in Maclean’s exactly one year prior.
